  This Week's Viewpoint
  The Cure for Liberal Chaos

By David Fowler

Just this week, Democratic congressmen "boycotted" a committee meeting because it was not enough to just vote "no" on a cabinet nominee, and students at Cal-Berkeley rioted simply because Breitbart's editor was scheduled to speak on campus. Even at the state Capitol, the number of groups thinking it necessary to chant and shout to the point of distraction is increasing. What are we to make of this and what should we do? Read more...

Trump Picks Judge Gorsuch as Nominee to Supreme Court
On Tuesday, President Trump nominated Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Said FRC President Tony Perkins in a recent press statement, "Judge Gorsuch's record over the last 14 years, especially on religious liberty, gives Americans every reason to believe he will make a fine Supreme Court justice. His reputation as a judge with integrity and dedication to the Constitution should be an encouragement to all Americans."
U.S. Senator Introduces Bill to Challenge Johnson Amendment
On Wednesday, Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) introduced into the Senate the Free Speech Fairness Act, which would address the Johnson Amendment to the Internal Revenue Code by restoring to nonprofits and houses of worship the freedom to speak about electoral activity without putting their charitable tax status in jeopardy. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) is sponsor of the companion House bill. ADF has been working to overturn the Johnson Amendment since 2008.
Boy Scouts Allows Transgenders to Enroll
The Boy Scouts of America finally caved to the Left's LGBT agenda. On Monday, the organization announced that, effective immediately, it would now allow biologically female children who identify as male to enroll in its male-only programs. Parents who are concerned should considerTrail Life USA as a Christ-centered scouting alternative. John Stemberger, an Eagle Scout who is now Chairman of the Board of Trail Life USA, is deeply troubled by this latest news and said in a recent press release, "[K]nowing that boys and biological girls will be showering, dressing, and camping in tents together creates a clear child protection issue which is being ignored."
California Senate Bill Proposes Third Gender Option on IDs
Democratic California state Sen. Toni Atkins introduced a bill that would offer a third gender option on state-issued identification documents including state driver's licenses, birth certificates, identity cards, and gender change court orders. Atkins, who identifies as a "transgender," wanted a non-binary gender option on these official documents. California Family Council CEO Jonathan Keller responded to the bill by saying, "While we are sympathetic to the difficulties facing those experiencing gender dysphoria, we believe government documents need to reflect biological facts for identification and medical purposes."
March for Life Should Have Drawn More Media Coverage
Though hundreds of thousands gathered for the March for Life last weekend in Washington, D.C., and Vice President Mike Pence even spoke at the event, major secular media outlets offered far less coverage of this important annual event than they did of the pro-LGBT Women's March the previous weekend. In fact, combined coverage from ABC, CBS, and NBC, though better for this year's March for Life than last year's, was still significantly less than coverage of the Women's March. "That makes not only for bias and disinformation, but poor journalism," writes ADF Senior Writer Chris Potts.
Colorado Middle School's Pornographic Sex Ed Curriculum
When a set of parents at Fox Ridge Middle School in the Denver area accidentally logged into the school's controversial sex education website while trying to update their child's password information, they not only discovered highly pornographic material, but they were also chastised by the school for "breaking school policy" because the website was password-protected. Shocked parents have turned to MassResistance to confront the school district, which doesn't see anything wrong with the explicit materials. Outraged parents are calling on the district to make changes. As one father said, "We will attend every school board meeting in perpetuity until this stuff is taken off."
Women Call It Discrimination, Gym Calls It Hygiene
Is it discrimination if a gym asks women to stop wearing midriff-bearing clothing to work out in? For two feminists, it was enough to bring out the "men are chauvinists" and "I have a right to wear what I want" arguments. But at Brown University, the gym makes it clear that both women and men need to wear clothing that covers the midriff for health reasons. Less bare skin contact with gym equipment means fewer germs for everybody. And that isn't discrimination.
